This issue of Trade Hot Topics examines the small economies initiative, a concerted effort by small economies to gain both the recognition of their concerns and special treatment in the WTO. It looks at the issue of defining small economies and gives examples of the initiatives taken by small economies to address their interests and the response of the WTO membership so far to these proposals.
