At its meeting on 27 January 2003, the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of the World Trade Organization (WTO) established a Panel, at the request of India. This issue of Trade Hot Topics examines the India–European Union dispute on Generalised System of Preference (GSP) conditionalities. It provides analysis of the legal regime and of the dispute, the legal basis of India’s position, the task before the panel and the implications of Panel decisions.
