Synopsis
The banana dispute which effectively came to an end on 11th April 2001 with the Agreement between EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy and US Trade Representative, Richard Zoellick, has certainly been one of the most protracted and complex trade disputes of recent times. At issue were the terms of access for a product from developing countries.
