Food Security During Times of Crisis: Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic

Authors

Collin Zhuawu

Synopsis

This issue of Trade Hot Topics examines the broader threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic to the food security of developing countries, including most Commonwealth small states, LDCs and SSA countries. It argues that the pandemic provides strong evidence in support of finding a permanent solution at the WTO to public stockholding (PSH) for food security to provide assurance on enough food supplies in future crises
