Review of British Health Aid to Commonwealth Countries 1977-79

Since the Fifth Commonwealth Medical Conference in 1977, Britain has continued to help the development of health services and medical expertise in other Commonwealth countries by training medical personnel from the Commonwealth in Britain, supporting research in tropical medicine and responding to requests for assistance from governments. The department mainly concerned with these activities is the Overseas Development Administration (ODA). Importance is attached to preventive medicine, community health and development in rural areas.
