Health and the Family

The health agenda for most of the developing and much of the developed world will be dominated for the rest of the century by issues that relate to the WHO target of “health for all by the year 2000”. The Alma Ata Conference in September 1978 focused international attention on primary health care and its role in the strategy for attaining the WHO target. Individual countries now face the task of formulating measures for achieving it appropriate to their circumstances and resources.
