The Special Problems of Training and Education Facilities in Relation to Employment Prospects for Young People

The underlying problem in this area is to establish a closer relationship between education and training on the one hand, and employment opportunities for young people on the other hand. Although in view of the independent human and social value of education (especially literacy) it would be wrong for this to be a simple exclusive relationship (particularly in general education, less so in specialised training), it is also wrong to have education/training systems completely out of gear with employment situation realities. If education/training does not enable young people to engage in productive activities one has merely raised the educational level of the unemployed.
