Shiromani Alkali Dal (Simranjit Singh Mann) V Election Commission of India

Two writ petitions filed by two political parties, (i) Shiromani Alkali Dal (Sunranji Singh Mann) and (ii) Shiromani Alkali Dal (Badal) were admitted to be heard by the Full Bench, as common substantial questions of law are involved therein. The grant of interim relief encountered a difference of opinion and the matter was referred to another judge. The Full Bench took the view that that Court was not concerned with the issues relating to the grant of interim relief of postponing the elections.
