Introduction

The judiciary in many jurisdictions has been clothed with a prominent role in the promotion of free and fair election. The fear of a disruptive and intervening court upsetting the electoral process in an untimely manner is gradually giving way to a more positive approach to a constructive role for the court. Election cases do not always attract the attention of law reporters, particularly in small countries.
