Public sector reform has moved on apace since the first of the Commonwealth Public Service Country Profile Series was launched in 1995 when the principles of New Public Management (NPM) were in an early stage of adoption. Improving Partnerships with Organisations and Agencies Outside the Government

Feedback from the business community continues to form an important input into policy formulation. This is facilitated by the Malaysia Incorporated Policy or Malaysia Inc., which promotes active dialogue between the Government and its partners, in particular the private sector. The Malaysia Inc. Policy was officially introduced in 1983 and continues to provide a platform for developing partnerships between government and industry.
