Effective school inspection and advisory support is essential for quality education. Owing to inadequate professional preparation and a serious lack of field support, many developing countries still use conventional methods of school inspection. This programme has been developed to help schools understand and implement a system where school inspectors are carefully recruited and selected, and above all well trained to perform their functions effectively and in accordance with set norms.

Assessment and Evaluation

Assessment and Evaluation are central to the process of effective teaching and learning. They have become a greater part of teachers' professional activity. According to Sutton (1991), “assessment can provide a framework in which educational objectives may be set, and pupils' progress charted and expressed.” It can produce a basis for planning the next educational steps in response to children's needs.” It therefore, helps teachers to review their strategies for curriculum delivery.
