Educational Television

Of all the media included in this study, television has aroused most expectations and hopes and has attracted most attention. This was particularly so in the late 1950s and early 1960s when there was a rapid - almost mushroom - growth of national television services around the world. At that time extravagant claims were made on its behalf. It was seen as the universal panacea for all educational ills.
