School Transition

The early primary school years are important for establishing the social and academic competencies critical to the child's school success and achievement. Pre-primary settings tend to provide more support for both children and families than primary settings, recognising the clear developmental differences between pre-primary age children and primary school children. There are normally significant changes in both curricula and methods at the primary school level.
