The output of a regional teacher education seminar in Trinidad and Tobago in 1995. The objective was to examine developments locally and in other parts of the world, and determine priorities and projects for developing and strengthening teacher education in the Caribbean.




The establishment of the first school marked the introduction of the present system of governance of schools in Belize. The Honduras Free School was supported by voluntary subscriptions from the inhabitants and subsidised by public funds. It was managed by a committee consisting of His Majesty's Superintendent (the officer administering the government), seven magistrates, and all subscribers of 10 or more annually.
